It's Dark, I'm talking Black as night dark, Gritty, Hot- as in Alpha Men With Tattooed Attitude HOT. SO..... if you are a die hard SOA fan then Trigger is FOR YOU! Its Jax Teller but OH SO MUCH BETTER!! Tall, tattooed, dirty and Pres of the MC......and that's just the surface. Hold on for a wild ride! Trigger has me ready to jump on a bike and just ride baby ride.Trigger is different from Drakes previous works that it's almost like you are in a whole new world.......but not quite, there are a few shadows in there you may have seen before. But you never know what's coming or who you will meet next. All of the characters are so real that you will feel like you really in the book.
(I will say that this is an 18 & up read-there may be triggers in there)
Drake went somewhere I never expected and I'm so glad she did. I think she really shows her range & story telling talent in this new series-(I've never been a big MC reader, I've now been pulled into the MC world.) Drake still stays true to who she is as a writer & storyteller. Now if you know Drakes work, then be ready for the twists and cliff hangers-we all know, love and love to hate her for. But if we didn't have those, lets be honest we wouldn't love to read all of Drake's series over, & over, & over again.
If her Broken, Blackstone & Darkness series are an example of why we love Drake so much then you know Trigger & the Devils Reach crew is gonna be pumped up by a thousand!
I would give Trigger 10 stars if I could, I read a ton of books every year, J.L.Drake is 1 of a very few Authors that I read every week if not every day, you just can't go wrong with any of Drake's work. So pick up Trigger or any of Drakes series, you can't go wrong!

Trigger started off with a bang. It’s a raw, dark and sexy read. I was captivated from start to finish and left yearning for more.
“Look the devil in the eye, and I dare you to lie to him.”
Tess is a mysterious, strong, hard woman with impenetrable walls. She hasn’t had an easy life but we don’t have all the details of it yet. She has one friend, one person that she considers family, Matt. When she finds herself in need of help she turns to him which leads to Trigger. He is the rough, scarred, badass Pres of Devil’s Reach MC, who claims to have no soul.
“Since he was a boy, he’s been surrounded by nothing but hate. He’s been killing since you were on the school playground.”
Both main characters have trouble pasts and are broken. Neither do feelings and who is worst is still up in the air. This was a unique MC plot line and I find myself a little obsessed with it. This is the first book in the Devil’s Reach series but I was extremely happy a couple of characters from J.L. Drake’s previous books made crossover appearance. Once you dive into this book you will not be able to put it down and will be jumping into the second book, Demons, ASAP.

Trigger was a book that grabbed my attention the second I heard about it. When I had the chance to read an early copy, I nearly peed myself in excitement. I just knew there was going to be something special about this book, and it did NOT let me down.
I have always been a big fan of MC books, so when I heard one of my favorite authors wrote one, I could barely contain myself. With that being said, not only did she completely kill it with this story, but it gave a completely refreshing and unique twist to your usual MC stories. It stands out, and that is something that is very important when writing a book of this type.
Tess is one of my favorite heroines to date. She is strong minded, strong willed, and doesn't back down. Although she has not had any history of being involved with an MC, she fits in perfectly with the Devils Reach right from the beginning. She has had one hell of a past, and I cannot wait to see her secrets and past unfold in the next book(s).
Trigger is completely badass, and damn sexy. What can I say? He is the president of the Devil's Reach MC, and lives and breathes his Club. It is the only thing he cares about after the life he grew up in. That is, until Tess comes barreling into his life, and into the life of his club.
The Slaughter room...MY GOD THE SLAUGHTER ROOM!!! You want to talk about some dark and twisted events, wait until you read those scenes! The twists and turns throughout the story keep you guessing and then second guessing so much.
If you love MC books, this is one you will NOT want to miss. And even if you aren't a fan of them, I still firmly and strongly believe this is one story you will love. It's not your typical MC story...it's so much MORE.
